How To Create A Hazy Look In Camera

I get asked a lot how to create a hazy look in camera without using Photoshop. Or how do I get a blurry foreground that makes an image beautiful. This is something I do often and it’s very simple. Here are the steps:

1. Pick up a piece of grass or a few small leaves.
2. Put them in front of your camera.
3. Focus the camera on your client and take a picture.

Below is a picture taken with an iPhone behind the scene of me using a small tree branch.

Here is an example of how the picture looks like shooting through the grass I was holding. Notice the blurry green grass in the foreground.

This time I’m holding a bunch of dry grass. This will create a beautiful light hazy look.
